The Hunter and the Pigeons
Once, a flock of pigeons flew high in the sky. They were looking for food. Suddenly, they saw many grains of rice spread on the ground. "Look! A feast!" cried the youngest pigeon. They all flew down to eat. But it was a trap! A clever hunter had hidden a net under the rice. As soon as the pigeons landed, the net fell over them. They were stuck! The pigeons began to panic. "We are caught! The hunter is coming!" they cried. The King Pigeon was very wise. He said, "Do not be afraid. If we try to fly alone, we will fail. But if we fly together, we can escape!" The pigeons listened. On the count of three, they all flapped their wings at the same time. One... two... THREE! The pigeons flew up into the air, carrying the heavy net with them! The hunter was shocked. He ran after them, but the birds were too fast. They flew to a safe place where their friend, a little mouse, chewed the net with his sharp teeth and set them free.
